Panasonic DMP-BD85 WiFi Blu-Ray Disc Player Review
The new DMP BD85 Blu-Ray Disc Player was built to replace the BD80 Blu-Ray. Similar to the BD80, the BD85 sports a full 1080p display with an up-conversion of 480/720p resolutions. However, the BD85 has higher resolution precision that makes the picture more vibrant and smooth.
The main difference between the two Panasonic Blu-Rays is the new built in wireless networking capabilities in the BD85. These capabilities are adaptable to DNLA, meaning, internet content, such as JPEG, AVCHD, WMV, can more easily be viewed due to a faster connection that in turn makes the VIERA Cast much more functional.
The user does not need a LAN line to access web content. The built in wireless capabilities make the connection to Netflix extremely smooth. The access to Netflix movie streams is instantaneous and the user can also access YouTube, Picasa and other internet sites from the VIERA Cast screen.
The internet swiftness of the BD85 surpasses its predecessor, and with the price of the two newest and hottest Panasonic Blu-Rays, the BD80 and the BD85, just $1 apart on Amazon, it is not a question which one will be displayed in lucky households.
A Review from Amazon, “Traded a Panasonic DMP-BD80 for this DMP-BD85 for the wireless features. We loved the DMP-BD80 and this player is equally as good but better since you get the wireless capability and the blu-ray discs load up twice as fast as compared with the DMP-BD80. We are pleased with this player and Panasonic has a great reputation for quality and longevity. Setup of the wireless features was pretty intuitive. Of course, we buy everything possible through Amazon since the service is consistently wonderful.”
