This is my first BR player… well actually third because I returned the first two I bought. For better or worse BR requires that you be able to update your firmware for the latest greatest movies. A player without any internet connectivity will require you to download the updates and burn them onto a DVR. Being able to watch Netflix online, play YouTube directly, and plug in your camera’s SD memory chip in directly with slideshow viewing support is fantastic. This player connects directly to the internet with a LAN cable, unfortunately a network USB adapter is not supported.
