This may or may not be a good Blu Ray player, but I bought it for both its Blu Ray and “all region” playback capability.
Contrary to the listed specifications, it is a “region 1 only” player and I’ve had to return it for a refund.
Amazon needs to change the listed specifications.

i just got this JVC XV BP1. it works international region DVD. also when i connected usb to my portable hard drive, i can watch
my backup movie. it tried to play (non-hd divx or xvid format .avi) HD MOVIE (.MKV .MP4) .MPG .MP3 .WMA DVD(CODE1,6,3,and ALL)
JPEG PHOTOS and bd. worksperfect. easy to use, nice picture and great sound. this unit DO NOT SUPPORT new format’s divx xvid and rmvb.
recommend to buy.
