I thought LG was a good name. I bought an LG BD300 in November and it stopped reading the disc. No matter what I load, blu ray or not, the machine can’t read it. I’m supposed to be grateful that my warranty includes 12 months parts, but they want seventy bucks for labor. This is pathetic. Go somewhere else for a netflix roku compatible player!

don’t encourage their awful customer service by buying more of their products.

LG player was in-operative on arrival. I had to pay to ship it back. Bought a different brand from another merchant

First of all, my 370 seems to do everything it is supposed to do with no issues other than the one I am about to discuss. I haven’t tried to use the Netflix feature as I already have a Roku player that performs flawlessly and uses less electricity. The problem with my 370, and apparently some other owners units, is the fact that it gets almost as hot as a George Foreman Grill! The specs say the unit only uses 26 watts, yet the top right side gets so hot it is uncomfortable to touch it. I own two other LG DVD players, one of which is a recorder/player. Neither of these run hot…just very slightly warm. Having read about the recall on Walmart brand DVD players due to a fire hazard, I’m concerned about this player too. I called LG and was told to return the unit to the place of purchase as running hot is not normal.
On another note, I can see VERY little difference in picture quality with this Blu-ray player when compared to my other up conversion standard DVD players. To me BD is just more hype. In another year or two these players will be selling at or below todays cost for standard players. I would’t be surprised if the Blue-ray format is discontinued.
