Blu Ray Player Reviews Archives

The Blue ray movie is now officially the latest and most advanced consumer movie format. During the movie format war months ago, between Sony’s Blue ray and Toshiba’s HD-DVD, Sony officially won the war when Toshiba supported out.

Like most new movie format, it takes a while for the new format to take on the market (particularly as the cost of production). Now already more than a year since the launch of the Blu ray format and the prices of players and the disc are slowly declining to an affordable level.

The OPPOBDP-83 Blu-ray player combines the full range of video playing functions with CD/DVD audio, into the one single machine. This is a truly comprehensive little beast and will play most type of media that you care to name including Blu-ray, Audio DVDs, SCAD, CDs, and DVD too.

This little baby is multi-functional and fully automatic (with remote of course), and whatever disk type you insert into the machine, it will automatically sense it, categorize it, and play it to perfection. You do nothing; just sit back and enjoy.

Blu-ray disc players offer the consumer full high definition movies from the comfort of home. There are some new features on blu-ray players that weren’t available on DVD players.

Not surprisingly, Sony’s new Blu-ray Players being released this year will mostly be 3D capable. They include the BDP-S570 player, and the home theater systems: the BDV-E770W and BDV-E570. The BDP-S470 is no exception. It is 3D ready and will be fully 3D functional via a firmware upgrade later this summer. Available now at SonyStyle and Amazon.com.

Beside the 3D capability, the BDP-S470 is able to connect to the internet and provide online media such as movies, music videos, music. From online sources Netflix, Amazon-On-Demand, YouTube, Slacker Internet Radio, Pandora(coming soon) NPR, Sony Pictures, Sony Music, and over 25 more via the Sony BRAVIA Internet Video platform.

I have had this product in my home for a month now and am a lot more than happy using the image high quality in any mode. It boots up almost immediately and also works nicely with my Sony LCD tv, the remote about the tv and this bluray can operate each tools and electricity them together on/off. I’ve tried playing blu rays and dvd’s plus they equally commence up right away. I’ve observed other bluray players plus they usually can get up to 30+ seconds to boot up and play movies, this one doesnt. There’s a sleep/low energy mode offered which also can make the boot up even quicker but I didn’t test that nor do We have it on considering I don’t want it to consistently be on when it ought to be off.

The player features a ton of functions for world wide web video – youtube, amazon unbox, netflix and an assortment of other world-wide-web channels. You will find also radio stations offered also. These all perform quite well and have absolutely a unified interface to interact with their respective stores/download locations. Sony also spent time customizing the player for each and every of these web streams to become the exact same so you use a unified layout for all of it. They did a genuinely great job right here. I summarize pros and cons for this Sony BDP-N460 Blu-ray Disc Player as followings
Pros: Super effortless to setup, does every thing it claims to try and do, great remote with powerful signal, effortless intuitive menu navigation, smooth streaming of web content material, broad variety of web content material in comparison with stable competing client products, flawless firmware update, fantastic picture and sound excellent, smart timing of screensaver/power off

LG BD370 Blu-ray Player

If you had an LG BD370 Blu-ray disc player , you would be watching the movie of your choice. The LG BD370 performs beyond expectations but falls a little short of quantity quality. The interface of the LG BD370 is pretty straight forward there isn’t anything confusing about it. As long as you know what options you are looking for you will find it.

The LG BD370 Blu-ray player has an HDMI 1.3 port that can output 7.1-channel sound and 1080i/p visuals. Component and composite video out connections are provided, as is a digital optical audio port. The LG BD370 is a thoroughly capable machine, and wrapped with a design that won’t look out of place under even the swankiest HD TV. Unless you’re desperate to play games on a PlayStation 3, this is one of the best Blu-ray machines in the world. Flipping down the panel in the front of the LG BD370 gives the consumer access to several more functions on the device including the accessible port where a drive can be inserted. If preferred, the consumer can operate the disc player with a remote that offers a number of control options.

Released in 2009, the BDP-S360 from Sony is a great entry level Blu-ray Player. While it does not provide any features beyond the basics, the BDP-S360 is a Profile 2.0 player that supports BD-Live Content, Bonus View(PIP) and has excellent image and audio quality. Lacking online internet streaming media services, Wi-Fi connectivity or DLNA support, the BDP-S360 focuses all its attention on High Definition Blu-ray and DVD playback. You will have to look elsewhere if you want extra features.

Small in its design, the BDP-S360 is only 16.9 inches wide by 2.2 inches high and 8.1 inches in depth. It is a combination of a sleek glossy finish with touches of conservative elements. It will not be a standout feature in your Home Entertainment theater, but should blend in nicely. The dark, glass like front panel flips open, revealing the disc loading tray. The player itself does not have many controls, you will have to use the Remote Control to navigate the player’s operations. The remote is easy to use but does not have a Open/Close button which might not appeal to some consumers. A universal remote can be used to remedy this as the BDP-S360 will support receiving an Open/Close IR command.
