Last Christmas a lot of people rewarded themselves with a new 1080 pixels HDTV. Of course it’s possible to use your DVD player or even get a brand new Blu-Ray player to use with the new television. However what is truly the best media player for your new system? You aren’t the only one to ask yourself questions, and that’s why we’re going to look at media players in further details.

Some individuals say an high definition media player would be the best option. These media players are the size of an external hard disk and can play audio and of course video from USB storage media devices. There are several different brand names to select from but for an example we will use the well-liked WD media player, WD being short for Western Digital. This company is a major hard drive manufacturer but has also moved into the media player industry, with positive results.

With a WD TV HD media player you’ll be able to play content from any connected USB drive in full HD 1080 pixels with DTS 2.0 digital sound. This device actually plays most video and audio formats and also allows you to search and organize your files from the easy to use interface. You can also move and manage data files from a digital camera or even video camera. To be able to use this media player an additional USB hard drive is necessary. The unit itself does not include storage space. By using external hard disks the storage space is really unrestricted. There is a lot of other high definition media players with similar functions. For further info try to find a WD HD media player review on the internet.

The more recent versions also include internet streaming media. There are several distinct brand names that provide you internet streaming hi def, including D-Link, ASUS, MvixUSA, and Buffalo LinkTheater. So what’s internet streaming media? Streaming media is a player with a connection to the internet. Some use ethernet technology and some others are wireless. Either way this will allow you to access all the media on our computers and network and organize, play, and view data files.

So what can you actually do with this sort of media players? You can stream films and television shows that you have downloaded from the web, as well as watch Dailymotion videos, listen to your music, listen to internet radio, and view our pictures and videos on the large screen. If you’re entertaining it is possible to put in place a cool media show on your set to actually play in the background, forget about burning log DVDs. In the near future these devices should continue to get better but for now these are affordable and a great way to manage and appreciate your media collection.

MakeMKV is your one-click solution to convert video that you own into free and patents-unencumbered format that can be played everywhere. MakeMKV is a format converter, otherwise called “transcoder”. It converts the video clips from proprietary (and usually encrypted) disc into a set of MKV files, preserving most information but not changing it in any way. The MKV format can store multiple video/audio tracks with all meta-information and preserve chapters. There are many players that can play MKV files nearly on all platforms, and there are tools to convert MKV files to many formats, including DVD and Blu-ray discs.

Discount Click here

Additionally MakeMKV can instantly stream decrypted video without intermediate conversion to wide range of players, so you may watch Blu-ray and DVD discs with your favorite player on your favorite OS or on your favorite device.

Reads DVD and Blu-ray discs
Reads Blu-ray discs protected with latest versions of AACS and BD+
Preserves all video and audio tracks, including HD audio
Preserves chapters information
Preserves all meta-information (track language, audio type)
Fast conversion – converts as fast as your drive can read data.
No additional software is required for conversion or decryption.
Available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux
Functionality to open DVD discs is free and will always stay free.
All features (including Blu-ray decryption and processing) are free during BETA.

Discount Click here

Normally blu-ray players won’t play MKV files from blu-ray or DVD disc. However you can convert MKV file created by MakeMKV to a format playable by any blu-ray player. The conversion is fast and MKV file itself can come from blu-ray disc or DVD disc (or even HD-DVD disc). The trick is to transcode MKV file into AVCHD disc files – nearly all blu-ray players play AVCHD discs from BD discs, most play AVCHD recorded on DVD_R and some player, including PS3, can play AVCHD files from external USB drive without the need to burn any media. There are at least two freeware programs that you can use to transcode MKV into AVCHD.

The Sony Bravia KDL-46V3000 46″ 1080p LCD HDTV is an elegant looking set with its piano black frame. The black finish is reflective, but not annoyingly shiny like a mirror as long as you don’t put it directly in front of a light source. It’s a serious looking LCD HDTV with its black finish and anti-glare screen. Not only does it look nice aesthetically, but it looks awesome where it counts the most, the picture.

The picture, like the Sony Bravia V2500 models, looks amazing. No annoying glares will ruin your viewing experience and the fogging that hit some of the owners with the V2500 model is gone. If there are any, you must be unlucky. The Sony Bravia KDL-46V3000 1080p LCD HDTV has a 60 Hz refresh rate while the higher end models have 120 Hz so the motion blurring will not be as smooth as the more expensive sets. That doesn’t mean it’s blurry though. It’s still pretty smooth during fast action sequences and you probably won’t be able to tell anyway when playing HD content.

The Sony Bravia KDL-46V3000 1080p LCD HDTV up-scales 480i standard definition content with its Reality Creation Multi Function v1.0 technology and you can see that it truly helps make SD stuff less horrible than it otherwise should be. This basically means watching standard programming is good, but not at the level you’re used to when watching with a CRT, but also not as bad as many other LCD TVs.

The black and the contrast is good unlike what has been expected of LCDs. The colors are rich and the picture comes to life more so than other LCD HDTVs. Side by side with the Samsung or Sharp, the Sony looked better. In fact it can even compete with some of the plasma TVs out there. Just switch to normal mode and not use vivid mode and make some tweaks from there to your liking and the image will be near perfect. Try sharpening the image and increasing the black.

Configuring the settings in the Sony Bravia KDL-46V3000 1080p LCD HDTV is a breeze with the highly regarded XMB menu system that’s also in the PS3. Speaking of the PS3, watching blu-ray on the KDL-46V3000 is simply stunning. If you don’t have a PS3 or a Blu-Ray player, you need to get one if you’re getting an HDTV. HD-DVD is dead.

The Sony Bravia KDL-46V3000 1080p LCD HDTV does not have PIP or picture in picture, but it does have P&P or picture & picture. You can play video from two input sources at the same time, but only from HDMI, TV tuner, and video on the left side of the TV and component on the right. That means no watching HDMI & HDMI at the same time. It’s not a deal breaker since the picture quality is way up there.

Sound quality is good should you choose not to invest in a home theater surround sound system, but it does lack some oomph in the bass department. It’s much better than many LCD panels out there considering how small the piano black frame is.

I recommend the Sony Bravia KDL-46V3000 1080p LCD HDTV if you don’t want to spend a few extra Ben Franklins on the XBR4 and you don’t want the older, but still excellent KDL-46V2500. You can’t go wrong with this choice and it’s one of the best bangs for the buck.

The earliest DVD players were first introduced in Japan in November of 1996. The following year, the US market launched the first DVD players to the public. As of 2005, the suggested retail price of DVD players is between 30 and 80 USD/Euro based on features and functionalities. DVD players are generally cheaper than VCRs.

Almost every DVD player can play audio CDs such as MP3, CDDA, etc. and video CDs (VCD). It usually has a home cinema decoder for a more enhanced listening experience like Digital Theater System (DTS) and Dolby Digital. New models can also read MPEG-4 ASP format videos such as DivX. Portable DVD players are quite popular to travelers and people who are always on the go. It is regularly run by lithium ion batteries. If your PC has a DVD-ROM and you want to listen to DVD music or watch DVD movies, then you will needing a software DVD player. The most widely used DVD software include VLC, MPlayer, WinDVD, and PowerDVD.

By the end of 2002, China has become the biggest manufacturer of DVD players. It produced almost 30 million units during that year which is above 70% of the total world output. It was believed that the successor to the DVD player would be the HD DVD player and the Blu-ray Disc player. But in February of 2008, Toshiba declared that it will stop its production of all DVD products consequently identifying Blu-ray player as the sole successor to DVD player.

But in February of 2008, Toshiba declared that it will stop its production of all DVD products consequently identifying Blu-ray player as the sole successor to DVD player.

Setup is fairly easy and straightforward, as the technology has matured. Be aware that one of the places where they cut costs is by removing connection ports for legacy hardware; you may need to buy some external adapter cables if you’ve got some vintage gear you’re still determined to hook into this rig.

What sets this system apart is the superb sound quality. Many people who’ve never experienced a Dolby 7.2 surround system before are completely unprepared for the crystal clarity it gives, and it may completely change your opinion of music. (We recommend looking up La Villa Strangiato by Rush, which has nuances that you won’t believe until you hear them on a Dolby 7.2 system.)

The Onkyo TX SR607 works at its best when it’s got the full seven speaker array, it does however, support fewer speakers as needed (this is something that’s been standard for digital home theater systems for years, but it’s nice they didn’t cut the feature out). Even with left, right and subwoofer, the Onkyo’s sound quality is impressive. Because of the HDMI interface, it’ll also play nicely with your Blu-Ray player, giving you cinema quality sound to go with cinema quality movies.

One place where there’s a drawback with this system is that the HDMI control doesn’t quite meet the full backwards compatibility mode of the HDMI specification. It’s close – and we were eventually able to get it up and running, but CEG HDMI proved to be a bit challenging to configure.

If push comes to shove, you can always get an IR repeater, but it’s worth it to cruise the web forums and read how other people have solved their configuration problems before you shell out for another piece of electronics gear.

What sets the Onkyo apart is the value, small size and stunning sound quality. It’s fairly easy to set up (HDMI interface glitches notwithstanding). It’s strongly recommended. It’s a very feature rich device, and of very high manufacturing quality.

You might have to spend a few days playing around with the remote just to get to know the different features of the Onkyo, because there is a lot to learn.

Richard Greenwood is an electronics expert with a lot of knowledge. He is currently offering a wide array of home theater equipment and so much more at rock bottom prices. Drop by Richard’s site today to know more about the Onkyo TXSR607.

The BD-570 is the stand alone Blu-ray Player from LG. A new addition to previous years model, the extremely successful BD390. The main change LG made was within the look of the BD570. It’s got a much much leaner & sleeker style. The front panel may be lowered, revealing the disc launching tray and the control panel display screen, which includes the USB Port. If you have an USB device inserted you will not have the ability to shut the front panel.

The redesign by LG provideds a design of floating cubes to create your own selections. While not hard to utilize, it could have been made a little simpler. Such as when you enter the Netcast section, you happen to be given a series of large blocks to create your choice. This GUI is direct, uncomplicated and will get you to where you wish to be proper away.

The image top top quality is excellent. You can connect the BD570 video via one of three connections: HDMI, Component or Composite video outputs. These are locate at the rear on the player. As usually the HDMI connection will offer you with the finest image high top quality. You’ll get Full HD 1080p Blu-ray Disc playback.

Audio for the BD570 is superb, even though it’s missing the 7.1-channel analog outputs the last years design BD390 had. You can connect the audio for the BD570 via the HDMI, Digital Audio (Optical, Coaxial) or the Analog Audio out: 2Ch Stereo. The player has internal audio decoding for DTS, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD Master Audio. Which really should supply you with most of your High Definition requirements.

Of course it comes with BD-Live and Bonus View (Picture-in-Picture) capability. Unfortunately, it has no internal memory, so to take advantage of these functions you will have to create use of a USB Memory device. BD-Live will give you access to several on-line content such as movie trailers, extra scenes, chat rooms and are living commentary. Connection to the internet can be done via the Ethernet port or the built-in 802.11 Wi-Fi.

Some other good functions on the BD570 is its online streaming companies. LG brings you NetCast™ Entertainment Access. Which will allow you to entry Netflix, Vudu, CinemaNow, YouTube, Pandora, Picasa and AccuWeather. This Bluray Player is also a DLNA certified media player. Meaning you can stream videos, photos or music located on your computer through the Blu-ray Player and then onto your TV.

The good news: The LG BD570 has wonderful picture and audio high top quality. With NetCast™ Entertainment you get access to on the internet video streaming companies Netflix, Vudu, YouTube, Pandora, and CinemaNow. There’s certainly certainly certainly built-in Wi-Fi for quick connection to these providers and BD Stay content. Has Built-in audio decoding for DTS-HD and Dolby True HD.

Drawbacks: 3D technology isn’t supported. Doesn’t have the fastest loading or operational speed times. You might have to utilize a USB drive when accessing BD-Live content as there’s certainly certainly no internal memory.

What the experts say: The LG BD570 is a really solid Blu-ray Player. It has good audio and image high excellent. A very beneficial set of characteristics, including on the web streaming providers and DLNA functionality. If you are not looking for 3D capability this Blu-ray Player would make a incredibly great choice. Price you need to look for when purchasing — Under $300!

Several months ago, I wanted to rip and decrypt a Blu-ray disc and to be able to transcode it for an iPod, PSP, PS3, iPhone, Apple TV etc. I was a newbie on this field and had no idea at all about which program i should use. So I googled reviews but found so many programs listed on the web with each has its own good ones and bad ones, that really beat the hell out of me.

after many trials, I came to the following conclusions:

1. Do not trust video converters can do this job.

In fact, none of the reliable transcoders and converters worked at all. Almost all converters could just only do converting job rather than ripping.

2. Some hot programs are not as good as they boasting.

I was very disappointed with HandBrake (crashing), iVideo Converter produced choppy files at 720p, VisualHub never finishes, Popcorn won’t support any HD input at all (MKV, ISO images, or even BDMV folders), and the story is the same with DVDRemaster Pro and ReFrame.

3. Never pay for any package or suite.

The hardest thing to bear for me is that so many companies bundle several different program into one suite and sell it to you under coercion. You can’t just buy a transcoding app, you have to buy an iPhone encoder, then an AppleTV encoder, etc.

Well, I’m pleased to say that this doesn’t seem to be the case with iSharesoft Blu-ray Ripper. It not only rips, but it transcodes too. There are more than a dozen devices listed for converting goals. It decrypted all discs I’ve tried so far and they all played extremely well on my AppleTV at 720p. The most curious things to note are that this program successfully accepted an ISO image and a BDMV folder I made under Vista using AnyDVD HD which has to be the best BD decrypter out there. So, if you need to rip with AnyDVD HD, then iSharesoft Blu-ray Ripper will easily convert it, or you can always rip with iSharesoft Blu-ray Ripper too. It would not accept the newest disc. Also worth noting is that the BDMV folder and the ISO image I made using AnyDVD HD burned a beautiful BD-RE disc at 1080p and played in my PS3 and in my Sony BDP-S360 player.

So, I’d recommend you iSharesoft Blu-ray Ripper if you want to rip a Blu-ray to transcode for an AppleTV, iPod, iPhone, PSP, PS3, XBox, Zune etc.

I hope other find this helpful, and thanks to the many people who have helped guide me through this.

Your appreciation of the more technical aspects of movies, such as the picture quality and the sound reproduction, will soar. Colors are lifelike and full of vibrancy with each subtle shift of shade clearly discernable. And the sound? The sound is truly inspiring; no matter whether it’s the music, or the dialogue, or all of those little incidental noises in the background; you’ll hear everything clearly, just as it was when the film was shot. Both you and your family are in for an experience to savor.

But don’t go bragging too loudly once your new Sony is installed or you might suddenly find friends and family you haven’t seen for ages suddenly turning up on your doorstep to help you share your experience. The Sony HTSS360 Blu-ray disc player is a high end machine and has got the sort of features you would expect from the new hi-tech digital technology, things like BRAVIA sync surround sound home theater system which gets the very best out of the latest high definition transmissions and recordings. The styling too is superb and you can match your HTSS360 perfectly with Sony’s BD players and BRAVIA televisions.

You can also play music via you iPod or other musical devices courtesy of certain DMPORT accessories, so you can enjoy the full extent of your music library no mater what form it’s in. You get the best of both worlds; a fabulous movie experience and fantastic music experience too.

There are also some technical details of the product that you are sure to be interested in. These include its digital tuner technology, its ability to use coaxial digital input and optical digital output, it uses a universal remote control and has a Dolby Pro Logic II, Dolby Digital and DTS decoder as its built in decoder, and the output wattage is at 1000.

With the Blu-ray Disc player you will be able to hear the faintest sounds that you never heard in something before. In fact when you get this player you are advised to use it to watch a movie that you have watched many times before and know very well. That way you will be able to identify the new sounds you never heard before of the sounds that are suddenly much clearer than they used to be.

Many people that have bought this item say that even the color and clarity on the movies they watch has improved. They liked this player because of its features of course, but also because it is so easy to setup and install. You won’t have to have someone come around and do it for you. The universal remote is also very handy as it doesn’t require you to have many remote controls lying around. This can become rather annoying, not to mention untidy.

The Sony HTSS360 Blu-ray disc player is a mean machine. It’s the latest and greatest in digital playback technology, taking sound and picture quality to the highest levels ever. Go out and buy yours now. You won’t regret; you’ll just wonder why you didn’t do it earlier.

How to Convert M2TS Blu-Ray Folder for iTunes
First, I want to share with you something about blu-ray disc and iTunes.
What is Blu-ray?
Blu-ray is a name for a optical disc standard which uses blue-violet laser instead of red laser used in CDs and in DVDs. This allows manufacturers to store more data using the same amount of disc surface. The Blu-ray discs greatly increased storage capacity for optical storage products, Blu-ray provides a leap-forward development opportunities. In fact, Blu-ray got its name from the technology, basically the “Blu” is from blue-violet diode and the “ray” is from optical ray. The “e” was intentionally dropped so that the full term “Blu-ray” could be registered as a new trademark. For most film lovers, the huge capacity of Blu-ray products brings the possibility and convenience for high-definition movies, games and large-capacity data storage. It will greatly facilitate the development of high-definition entertainment.

What is iTunes?
iTunes is a free application for your Mac or PC. It organizes and plays your digital music and video on your computer.
Customer Review:

As the title suggests, I felt this was a very inspiring movie in terms of what faith can bring you. And that’s saying a lot coming from me as I am not a religious person (though I do believe in a higher power). However, watching this movie and the sheer dedication that Denzel Washington portrays as Eli really inspired me and it was a brilliant showing of how faith can guide a person to their goals. Denzel turns in an overall great performance in his protrayal of Eli, who is on a mission to carry a book across a post-apocalyptic America. Traveling through barren wastelands and the occassional small town that has formed together, he lets nothing and no one stand in the way of his mission. Unfortunately along his trip he comes across a city where Gary Oldman’s character is the self proclaimed leader of the city. Oldman’s character is seeking out the book that Eli carries and will stop at nothing to get his hands on it. Gary Oldman turns in another wonderful performance as the villain in this movie and he and Denzel play off each other masterfully. I give a good bit of credit to the Hughes brothers for another excellent movie and superb direction in this film – I have greatly enjoyed all of their movies that I have seen thus far (Menace II Society, Dead Presidents, From Hell and Book of Eli).

Overall this was a great movie with plenty of action for those like hardcore action as well as a moving theme in the faith that Eli displays as he makes his way across the wasteland. My only beef with the home release (and some others have mentioned this) is why the heck do they release a blu-ray/DVD combo pack? They have done this with other movies as well and I just don’t get it – I mean if one actually wants the blu-ray because they own a BD player (as I do), why in god’s name would one want the DVD as well. Obviously one would choose to watch the movie in the highest quality available to him/her. It’s a waste of money that inevitably jacks up the price of the package since it’s extra media…maybe not by that much but still, I’d rather pay for just the BD and not have to pay ANY extra for the DVD that I will never watch. Oh well, there’s no real use complaining since the movie companies will do what they want to do; but still, I personally think it’s dumb. Well, that’s all I’ve got, hope you find it useful and definitely see this movie if you haven’t…or even if you have, watch it again.

BuyingThe Book Of Eli (Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Digital Copy)

DVD in Combo Pack Not The Same As SD DVD Sold Individually

Warner Bros. cheated me and everyone else who bought the combo-pack of The Book of Eli by including a 3.35 GB SD DVD in this package. SD DVDs of first run movies normally run 4.5 to 6.6 GB. In order to include the digital copy of this movie on the DVD, Warner Bros. technicians reduced the size of the SD DVD movie to a very low 3.35 GB, for a movie with a reduced color palette that needs every bit of video data to look presentable. The Blu-ray version looks fine, even if it takes forever to load, as you watch a time icon on the screen as the picture boots up.

The SD version includes the digital copy of the movie, something I can do without. It is near impossible to watch the SD version on your computer, since the disc is programmed to go into the digital copy installation mode first.

With this combo-pack, Warner Bros. makes Walt Disney Blu-ray/DVD packages look good. Walt Disney does not rip you off by selling you a reduced data DVD, even of it does load up the DVD with tons of coming attractions. I thought I was getting a bargain, a Blu-ray for $25 that included the $17 SD version of the movie. If Warner Bros. wants to sell what I consider to be a defective SD DVD, at the least it should state on the package that the enclosed DVD is an altered version not as good as the standalone SD DVD.

If the past is any guide, The Book of Eli’s DVD and Blu-ray’s prices should be going down in a month or so. The Amazon price for the Blu-ray of $25 is worth it if you have to have the Blu-ray now. I consider the SD DVD in this combo-pack a consumer ripoff by Warner Bros.

About the movie The Book of Eli…excuse me, I have run out of time, too busy slamming Warner Bros., so I am unable to comment on the movie now.

What is Blu-ray™ ?

Blu-ray™, also known as Blu-ray™ Disc (BD) is the name of a next-generation optical disc format. The format was developed to enable recording, rewriting and playback of high-definition video (HD), as well as storing large amounts of data. The format offers more than five times the storage capacity of traditional DVDs and can hold up to 25GB on a single-layer disc and 50GB on a dual-layer disc. The name Blu-ray™ is derived from the underlying technology, which utilizes a blue-violet laser to read and write data. The name is a combination of “Blue” (blue-violet laser) and “Ray” (optical ray). According to the Blu-ray Disc™ Association the spelling of “Blu-ray” is not a mistake, the character “e” was intentionally left out so the term could be registered as a trademark. The correct abbreviation is BD A single-layer disc can hold 25GB. A dual-layer disc can hold 50GB! *Over 3 hours of high-definition (HD) video on a 50GB disc. *About 9 hours of standard-definition (SD) video on a 50GB disc. To ensure that the Blu-ray™ Disc format is easily extendable (future-proof) it also includes support for multi-layer discs, which should allow the storage capacity to be increased to 100GB-200GB (25GB per layer) in the future simply by adding more layers to the discs.

Will Blu-ray™ replace DVDs?

Yes, that’s the expectation. The Blu-ray format has received broad support from the major movie studios as a successor to today’s DVD format. In fact, seven of the eight major movie studios (Disney, Fox, Warner, Paramount, Sony, Lionsgate and MGM) have released titles in the Blu-ray format. Many studios have also announced that they will begin releasing new feature films on Blu-ray Disc day-and-date with DVD, as well as a continuous slate of catalog titles every month. For more information about Blu-ray movies, check out our Blu-ray movies section which offers information about new and upcoming Blu-ray releases, as well as what movies are currently available in the Blu-ray format. However, the two formats (Blu-ray and DVD) will most likely co-exist for quite some time until HDTVs become more widespread.

Why should I upgrade from DVD to Blu-ray™?

The simple answer is HDTV. If you’ve ever seen high-definition (HD) video on an HDTV, then you know just how incredibly sharp the picture is and how vivid the colors are. In fact, HD offers five times the amount of detail compared to standard-definition (SD). The problem with today’s DVDs is that they only support SD and don’t have the necessary storage capacity to satisfy the needs of HD. That’s where Blu-ray comes in, it offers up to 50GB of storage capacity and enables playback, recording and rewriting of HD in all of the HD resolutions including 1080p. The format also supports high-definition audio formats and lossless audio. In addition to the greater video and audio quality, the extra storage capacity also means there will be plenty of room for additional content and special features. This combined with the new BD-J interactivity layer adopted by Blu-ray will bring the menus, graphics and special features to a whole new level. For example, you will be able to bring up the menu system as an overlay without stopping the movie, and you could have the director of the movie on the screen explaining the shooting of a scene while the scene is playing in the background. The advanced interactivity combined with the networking features of Blu-ray will also allow content producers to support new innovative features such as downloading extras, updating content via the web, and watching live broadcasts of special events. Thanks to the greatly enhanced HD video and audio quality as well as the advanced interactivity and networking features, Blu-ray represents a huge leap forward in the DVD viewing experience and will offer consumers an unprecedented HD experience.

The Blu-ray Disc region Contrary to DVD, the Blu-ray Disc region coding system divides the world into only 3 regions, called regions A, B and C. The usage of region coding on a Blu-ray Disc movie title is a publisher’s option. A Blu-ray Disc player will play any movie title that does not have region coding applied, plus all titles of its corresponding region.

Saw “to” last night on a special exhibition night at the theater in Minneapolis, and is undoubtedly one of the most interesting and entertaining films I’ve seen this year and beyond. And, yes, yes, I’m a fan of Rush … but I’m not an avid fan of Rush. I miss some of his albums, and although I have one ticket for the concert can be seen in autumn, which will be the first. I say this only means that the fan is not Rush Do not be discouraged that you saw this great document. There is so little real music that everyone, even those only interested in human stories and biographical films will find much love here. There is friendship, tragedy, moments of great fun, inspiration … package. A great thing to see is a “rock star” who are intelligent and generally lack a sense of inflated ego too? I think my favorite moment from the film came when the trio were on board the aircraft, the direction, if I remember correctly, in its next concert, and three withdrew and began to read books. I saw what everyone is reading, but Alex was half Christopher Hitchens God is not as big as religion poisons everything. I’m trying to paint almost any other rock star doing something similar – perhaps with the exception of Greg Graffin of Bad Religion.

Cool thing about the movie screening of “outside”. I came very early, and then the three boys sit on my left, and after a few minutes later, another boy was about to just sit on my right remains, and said, “I can come to your girl, right?” And he said: “No, my wife received.” And the boys on my left said, “Yes, it’s ours.” So there we were, a number of middle-aged white men are not too skinny, enjoying the heck out of this film. It was a sort of tribal feeling good, the relationship with foreigners, who think this way. So when you pop it in your DVD player, maybe some buds to get it to you.

Saw it in Nashville

I am so glad Beyond the Lighted Stage screened in Nashville. It is everything I hoped and more!
I have to join the five-star chorus here.

Saw “Beyond” last night at a one-night special showing in a Minneapolis theater, and it is without a doubt one of the most interesting and entertaining films I’ve seen this year, and beyond. And yes, yes, I’m a Rush fan…but I’m not a RABID Rush fan. I’m missing a few of their albums and while I have a ticket to see them in concert this fall, that will be the first time. I say this only by way of stating for the NON-Rush fan: Don’t let that deter you from seeing this great documentary. There is so little actual music in it, that anyone, even those just interested in human interest stories and biopics, will find plenty to love here. There is close friendship, tragedy, very comical moments, inspiration…the whole package. And how great is it to see “rock stars” who are intelligent and generally lacking an over-inflated sense of ego? I think my favorite moment in the film might have come when the trio was aboard a plane, heading, if I remember right, to their next concert, and they all three pulled out books and began to read. I didn’t see what everyone was reading, but Alex was half through Christopher Hitchens’ God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything. I have a hard time picturing just about any other rock stars doing something like that–with the possible exception of Bad Religion’s Greg Graffin.

One funny thing from the film showing of “Beyond.” I arrived fairly early, and then three other guys sat down to my left, and then a few minutes later another guy was about to sit in the single seat remaining to my right, and I asked him, “Couldn’t get your girlfriend to come either, huh?” And he said, “No, my wife wouldn’t come.” And the guys to my left said, “Yeah, ours either.” So there we were, a row of middle-aged, none-too-thin white dudes, enjoying the hell out of this movie. It had a good tribal sort of feeling to it, bonding with like-minded strangers like this. So when you pop this into your DVD player, maybe have some buds around to enjoy it with you.
Fun, funny, and at times touching. It’s a Rush love-fest!

Saw it in theatrical release on June 10. Stellar documentary! Great oral history of the band, lots of old footage (including gig footage with John Rutsey), almost an album-by-album step through their career, etc. The three band members speak candidly and openly about their formative years and climb to success — what worked (and why) and what didn’t (and why). Other musicians chime in with stories of how they were introduced to and influenced by Rush’s music. Some of the biggest laughs of the film, and there are many, come from these stories.

The DVD and Blu-ray releases will feature additional material not found in the theatrical release, so buying it is a no-brainer.

I’ve seen plenty of band documentaries before, but this one is special because you learn a lot about the personal dynamics between the band members and you really come to care about them. Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have been mates since high school and their long-standing friendship bond is at the heart of this film.

I can’t wait to see this again.
Pinch me I’m dreaming

The absolute most perfect movie ever made and everything deserving such a flawless band. If you like even just one RUSH song you will love this movie and more of their music. If you are a diehard fan and can find any fault with this movie, I will eat my hat. Which, luckily is made of chocolate. But still, I don’t want to eat it, it keeps my head warm. GET THIS MOVIE DARN IT!

The LG BD 390 Network Blu-ray Disc Player Plus is considered one of the highest quality players on the market. While there are plenty of systems that deliver a decent quality when it comes to sound and video capability, this model is the top of the line. Because of this, it continues to garner favorable reviews from satisfied customers.

Perhaps the best feature of this system is its incredible picture quality. For unsurpassed clarity and detail, this system is a must have. As those who own the system can attest, it certainly does deliver. It’s evident that a great deal of research and quality has gone into designing the video capabilities of this system. Those who enjoy a top notch visual display would do well to buy a LG BD 390 Network Blu-ray Disc Player Plus.

One incredible feature of this system is its ability to connect to your PC using a wireless system. Hook up is not difficult and is less complicated than most would likely assume, and the system includes Nero software than can be installed very quickly. After installing the software, you can stream a number of different file types directly to your Blu-Ray system, including music, videos, and photographs. This makes for an incredible viewing experience and integrates your home entertainment and computer systems.

If you are among the millions of people who have a Netflix subscription, you’ll be glad to know that this system will allow you to stream Netflix files right to the player. This is a huge improvement over watching these items on your PC, since the LG BD 390 Network Blu-ray Disc Player Plus has much better picture quality and navigation control for an all around better viewing experience.

Another great benefit of this player is that you can use it to watch YouTube videos right on the television. Nowadays, YouTube features more than short films and TV clips. In fact, you can find full length movies, music videos, and other extended video files. Now you can enjoy your favorite YouTube clips with great picture quality using the LG BD 390 Network Blu-ray Disc Player Plus.

Some people wonder whether this Blu-Ray system is difficult to connect to your television and entertainment center. Fortunately, hook up is easy. All it requires is connecting the player to the television using an HDMI cable that comes included with the system.

The price on this system is very fair and it is a system accessible to many budgets. For those looking for an excellent system with great picture quality and many multimedia functions, the LG BD 390 Network Blu-Ray Disc Player Plus is for you.

I have a Pioneer BDP-320 blu-ray disc player connected to a Pioneer Kuro PDP-5020FD HDTV. Set-up was very fast with most of the parameters is automatic between the two Pioneer. The only manual I had to do with the BDP-320 has been set at the exit of Source Direct.

The Pioneer BDP-320 for de-interlacing was lower than the Kuro. Hot Fuzz, which I used as a test DVD and 320 products over the edges white Metropolitan Police logo on the jacket is black. Change Source Direct dispelled any artifacts and makes the best DVD picture on my Kuro yet. Some other materials on DVD (LOTR), I found the best image ever since the BDP-320 is upconverting and PDP-5020FD-east of the intersection. However, the BDP-320 offers the flexibility to get the best possible image of your installation.

The sound quality of the BD using the optical digital output is greatly improved over the DVD. There is a greater definition bass frequency, and it seems that sound investment is more clearly defined. These observations are subjective, but I was surprised to see the difference. This makes me more likely to upgrade my receiver to a newer model that is able to handle the loss of most audio formats HDMI.

Although the BDP-320 is my first BDP, from what I can say that is not a great improvement over the previous model BDP-51FD Pioneers. The owners are asking twice the load, the picture quality, sound quality DVDs and change the response level are almost identical. The improvement in the BDP-320 is a small frame, increasing the size of ROM (for engineers from Pioneer firmware so good for you), out-of-the-box for DTS HD MA, much compatibility and built in BD BD-Live is included with 1 GB of memory and LAN. I hope that the BDP-320′s biggest ROM allows future firmware updates for its past to push the performance of the BDP-51FD.

Both with The Dark Night with BD-Live
Power off to open the tray – 27s
Press the drawer next to the WB logo – 42s
Press plateau near the beginning of the film – 1m.53s

I am very happy with my purchase, but was surprised by the fact that the loading times not improved over the Pioneer BDP-51. (Okay, I was very pleased with the BDP-320, but the DVD layer change is not acceptable. The BDP-320 has been returned and Oppo BDP-83 is its replacement.)

The player of the quality of construction is solid and strong. The picture quality is the best I’ve seen on my PDP-5020. Any person who requires a lot of comic books has not improved on the DVD is not right. While the DVD looks nice, BD is significantly improved in both depth of color, black level, and simply having a higher pixel.

The BDP-320 long-PQ / SQ of DBP-51FD is one of the best players on the market. I suggest reading the comments of the BDP-51FD and taking into account the improvement of the BDP-320.

Buying Blu Ray Disc is sure to upgrade your entire home entertainment source. It is the highest quality format available in the market. Plus, you can upgrade your entire DVD collection to Blu Ray Discs, ensuring that you get the best of both worlds.

Blu Ray Technology

Blu Ray technology employs a violet (blue) ray instead of the red laser. The shorter wavelength of the blu ray ensures that the laser can be focused on a smaller area on the disc. This means that you can store more data in the same space and hence you end up getting far superior audio/video quality. Blu ray discs are capable of providing up to 1080p resolution, and as much as 24 frames per second output.

Blu Ray Benefits

Considering that a Blu Ray disc can hold at least 6 times the size of a DVD storage capacity, it makes a lot of sense to transfer your DVDs to Blu rays and reduce the physical size of your digital library. Apart from being able to upgrade your DVD collection to blank Blu Ray discs, now you can buy the latest titles in movies as well as gaming on Blu Ray discs. Most movies released are available on Blu Ray, while many of the older movies are being made available in Blu Ray as well. Games for Wii, PS2 and PS3 as well as Xbox are all on Blu Ray discs.

Buying Blu Ray Online

The best place to buy Blu Ray discs is no doubt, online. This is because you can easily compare the features of Blu Ray discs offered by competing brands. You can also easily compare their prices on comparison sites and read user reviews and comments about them in user forums or in the comments section. This will give you a great idea of what kinds of products are available for sale. It will also make the task of choosing between two brands easier. Also, there is always the chance that you may chance upon a sale or discount offered on a website and get a great deal for your Blu Ray discs.

The new DMP BD85 Blu-Ray Disc Player was built to replace the BD80 Blu-Ray. Similar to the BD80, the BD85 sports a full 1080p display with an up-conversion of 480/720p resolutions. However, the BD85 has higher resolution precision that makes the picture more vibrant and smooth.

The main difference between the two Panasonic Blu-Rays is the new built in wireless networking capabilities in the BD85. These capabilities are adaptable to DNLA, meaning, internet content, such as JPEG, AVCHD, WMV, can more easily be viewed due to a faster connection that in turn makes the VIERA Cast much more functional.

The user does not need a LAN line to access web content. The built in wireless capabilities make the connection to Netflix extremely smooth. The access to Netflix movie streams is instantaneous and the user can also access YouTube, Picasa and other internet sites from the VIERA Cast screen.

The internet swiftness of the BD85 surpasses its predecessor, and with the price of the two newest and hottest Panasonic Blu-Rays, the BD80 and the BD85, just $1 apart on Amazon, it is not a question which one will be displayed in lucky households.

A Review from Amazon, “Traded a Panasonic DMP-BD80 for this DMP-BD85 for the wireless features. We loved the DMP-BD80 and this player is equally as good but better since you get the wireless capability and the blu-ray discs load up twice as fast as compared with the DMP-BD80. We are pleased with this player and Panasonic has a great reputation for quality and longevity. Setup of the wireless features was pretty intuitive. Of course, we buy everything possible through Amazon since the service is consistently wonderful.”
