Read full review at AfterDawn.com: bit.ly Testing the startup speed of six different Blu-ray players. Sony PlayStation 3 vs Samsung BD-P1600 vs Pioneer BDP-320 vs Pioneer BDP-120 vs Philips BDP-7300 vs LG BD390. While some players boot and start processing rather quickly, PlayStation 3 ends up fastest because of its raw processing power. Read full review at AfterDawn.com: bit.ly

My current Samsung BD-C6900 3D Blu-Ray player with ultra fast start ownz all these last-gen players. It turns on in 15 seconds and starts to play the movie in 15 seconds.
All these Blu-Ray players in this video are last-gen players. If you buy a blu ray player made in 2010 you’ll get ultra fast starting players. I can’t believe how slow those 2 pioneer players are :s …
@X23Unit ps3, if you are going to use it as blu – ray, and possibly play some games. Otherwise i would go with a sony blu – ray BPD-S470
@dcknudt :
You must have an original PS3 model. The PS3 slim can bitstream Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio to a receiver which allows the receiver to do the decoding and indicate whatever surround sound mode on the receiver display (receiver will indicate DTS, Dolby…)
The old PS3 could only decode then pass the raw data to the receiver thus causing a receiver to show the surround sound mode as Mult-Channel or PCM.
It is interesting on the times, of course the ps3 is the fastest, but it lacks true Dolby True HD and DTS HD Master Audio decoders. Pioneer is consistantly rated at the top as far as AQ and PQ, even compared to high end players such as OPPO. I personally own a PS3, but still purchased a Pioneer BDP-320 to get all I can out of my blu rays, I have no problem waiting a minute or two for the best viewing and audio performance I can get.
I have a 32-Inch Vizio Widescreen T.V and the quality is 720p it worth getting a Blu Ray or a PS3 with this type T.V.?
ps3 rules
@Monas76 but PS3 is so fast that it wasn’t on auto start and still smoked the competition.
wow, my samsung BDP-1600 dosent take that long.
i have fat ps3 and lg 390. they’re super fast!!!
sorry for pioneer
Ps3 should be on auto-start in system settings
OMG Crapioneer !!! I love my 2 PS3 slims and my 120GB phat PS3. The best Blu ray player on the planet is PS3!!!
WOW is the ps3 slim really that slim? lol i didnt imagine that my ps3 is that slim infront those giant boxes.
Can’t compare PS3 to stand alone players. PS3 first has got to boot to XMB…
Can’t compare PS3 to stand alone players. PS3 has powerful cpu and gpu.
the BD-P1600 doesnt take that long to start up.. update ur firmware..lol
ps3
i just needed an entry level blu-ray player to match my dads Samsung tv so i ordered the 1600. Now im having second thoughts. I wonder how quick the Samsung BP-P 3600 loads.
The PS3 is definetly the best Blu-Ray player. Its the smallest, the fastest and is a High End Games Console all for £250. (Might not be the cheapest)
